Composition and Improvisation Workshop III: Dr. Vera Ivanova

These workshops are open to all the Pre-College participants, regardless of the chosen Curriculum Track. Although students are strongly encouraged to attend all three workshops as a set to maximize the benefit of the material covered, attending any one of the workshops separately will also be acceptable. Students will need to sign up prior to each workshop. Taught by Pre-College faculty member Dr. Vera Ivanova. Not open to the public.

Workshop III will introduce students to different types of music texture and how to fledge their music ideas into a composition which has a developed harmony with changing chords and different textures. Students will work on turning melody to harmony and learn how to create different types of accompaniment or texture.

Students will be asked to bring their notated drafts, staff paper and erasers from the Workshop I and their laptops or tablets with saved files created during Workshop II.
