Composition and Improvisation Workshop II: Dr. Vera Ivanova

These workshops are open to all the Pre-College participants, regardless of the chosen Curriculum Track. Although students are strongly encouraged to attend all three workshops as a set to maximize the benefit of the material covered, attending any one of the workshops separately will also be acceptable. Students will need to sign up prior to each workshop. Taught by Pre-College faculty member Dr. Vera Ivanova. Not open to the public.

Workshop II will introduce students to the music notation software they can use to notate their compositions or to create it from scratch. Students will learn how to create a file for their piece of music, enter notes, edit them, add all other necessary elements of music notation (tempo, dynamics, articulations, etc.).

Students will be asked to bring their notated drafts from the Workshop I, staff paper and erasers, and their laptops or tablets.
