
Remy Fang
Remy Fang is an Associate Clinical Social Worker and professional violist in the state of California. Her passion for both music and mental health inspired her to obtain both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from the University of California, Irvine. In her graduate studies she earned her Masters in Social Work from Cal-State Fullerton and her Pupil Personnel Services Credential from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Remy was introduced to the viola through her school orchestra program. She enjoyed taking private lessons, performing with the All-State Honors Orchestras, the Fresno Youth Philharmonic, Kings County Symphony and the Tulare County Symphony. She also competed in solo competitions and won the 1st prize in the ASTA Fresno Chapter solo competition in 2009 and 3rd prize in the ASTA State Solo Competition in 2010. While at UCI, she performed with the UCI Symphony, Dana Point Symphony and various chamber music ensembles- which included participation in masterclasses with the Szymanowski quartet, Manehem Pressler and Trio Celeste.
Following her graduate studies, Remy worked at a domestic violence and human trafficking shelter, providing case management and counseling to adult and child survivors in the community. Remy also worked with children and teens in school settings providing counseling and case management services to students with Autism, learning disabilities and at-risk students. In the schools she facilitated parent education workshops and implemented socio-emotional curriculum in the classroom as well.
Overall, Remy is passionate about the power of the therapeutic relationship and music education/ performance, for they both foster empathy and connection which can promote healing and change. Currently, Remy works with Lisa Eaton Therapy and Coaching, providing individual therapy services via Tele-Health. She specializes in working with adults and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, ADHD, grief, low self-esteem, gender identity issues, school-related issues and parenting issues. When she is not doing therapy, Remy enjoys performing with her string quartet- OC Cavatina and teaching private lessons for violin and viola.
